Fishing Workshop

Calling all campers who love to fish! In our fishing workshop, campers learn all the basics of fishing from our experienced instructors. If you have a favorite rod, bring it along. If not, no worries, because we have an array of tackle, rods, reels, and other fishing supplies. During this workshop, our fishing instructors help campers become familiar with fishing gear, bait, and tackles. Not only do our instructors teach campers about fishing, but they also teach them about respecting the environment and safety of the fish.

Here at Summer at Sandy Spring we only perform the “catch and release” method. This means that all fish caught during the workshop will be returned to their natural environment. Once campers know how to set up their rod, it’s time for casting. Campers will have the opportunity to test their angling skills against bass, bluegill, catfish, and more. Young anglers will fish in the local ponds around our campus simply because they are full of fish!
